With egeo, SMEG and its customers make a joint commitment to help promote electricity production from renewable sources.
In 2021, 75% of the electricity purchased in the Principality of Monaco was produced from renewable energy sources.
The price of guarantees of origin is €4.1 excluding VAT per MWh* or €0.41 excluding VAT per kWh**.
*MWh: Megawatt-hour - kWh: Kilowatt-hour (1 MWh = 1000 kWh)
SMEG makes Renewable Origin Certificates available on the NexioPro customer area, certifying that the consumer's consumption equivalent has been produced from renewable energy sources.

Sources of renewable energy
Unlike fossil energy, renewable energy* comes from energy sources that renew themselves quickly enough to be considered inexhaustible on a human timescale. Today, the following energies are officially considered renewable: wind, solar, aerothermal, geothermal, hydrothermal, marine and hydroelectric, biomass, landfill gas, gas from wastewater treatment plants and biogas.

Electric vehicles are easy to use and environment-friendly:
A government subsidy of up to €10,000 for the purchase of electric vehicles.
Servicing an electric vehicle costs 40% less than for a combustion engine vehicle.
Using an electric vehicle causes no polluting or greenhouse gas emissions.
Car manufacturers now supply batteries for electric vehicles with a range of up to 500 km.

eco2, carbon offsetting
Instigated by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, the Prince's Government is pursuing a committed policy of energy transition, which should enable the Principality to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 50% compared with 1990 levels, by 2030. To achieve this objective and put the Principality on the path to carbon neutrality by 2050, SMEG offers you the opportunity to subscribe to eco2 carbon offsetting.
